Hello, I do not know if this is the correct forum, but I am trying to find out more information about my father's military backround. I decided to write you because he was in an engineer unit (African American) at Ft. Claiborne, LA about 1942. His unit, according to him, served in Guadalcanal after training. He was discharged from the Army in 1944 after being sent to Kennedy General Hospital in Tennessee. Any thing you can tell me would be appreciated. I would especially appreciate more information about Camp Claiborne during 1942.
