• At some point, it might be fun to include URL directions to my favorite examples of Deadpool fanart scattered on the web.

  • Note: at some point, consider "reviving" "horizontal university-of-toledo logo.png" for inclusion on the Univ. Toledo page. The basis for the revival should mirror the basis for inclusion observable at:

Raising the Bar (South Park)

edit

Hi. Please to not replace properly-worded material with slang, as you did with this edit to Raising the Bar (South Park). Wikipedia must be written in a formal tone, without such informal wording. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 15:39, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Exceptions should be made when a way to formally word something is unclear or unavailable. I've tried to figure out how to formally word the phrase "make out" when writing plot synopses for episodes of The Real World, but there is no formal wording for that activity that I could think of that wasn't either inaccurate, or which sounded pedantic or overly technical.
No exception, however, it needed for "Raising the Bar", since there are plenty of ways to formally describe what Obama did to Cartman, which is precisely what I did before you changed it: She beat him up. Unless there was something inaccurate or inappropriate about that wording, changing it to She beat the crap out of him was inappropriate. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 13:09, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well, it doesn't take a lot of thought to know the difference between slang and non-slang. But just out of curiosity, what's with all the bullets? You a gun nut, or something? ;-) Nightscream (talk) 17:57, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I'm familiar with comics, which you can see here and here, and gathered you were a Deadpool fan from your username. But it never occurred to me to excessive use of the typograhical symbol could be used as a reference to the projectile. Kinda obscure, but hey, to each his own.
Are you in the NYC area? Are you going to Comic Con? Nightscream (talk) 18:09, 8 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Heya. Wanted to say this before this potentially carries on further. Please read WP:BRD - it's a handy explanation of how edits which receive opposition should be handled. In our case, you made an edit, it was opposed, and then you should take it to the talk page and get approval before trying to re-add it. Emphasis on that last bit. Please do not try to readd your proposed changes to the article before a decision has been made on the talk page. Thank you. Redverton (talk) 11:57, 8 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Iron Eyes Cody may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s and 2 "[]"s. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 09:00, 9 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal, and the Selling of the Iraq War, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Crown. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
