Proposed deletion of Ronald Paul Hubert

edit

The article Ronald Paul Hubert has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Resume.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 04:01, 11 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please leave the maintenance templates; let other editors remove them after the article is improved

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Ronald Paul Hubert, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 18:10, 11 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

An offer of help

edit

Hi Melissa, no-one is trying to be difficult here or has anything against Mr Hubert, but all new article proposals have a mechanism for approval for inclusion in Wikipedia, that decision is not based on personal preference but simply measured against Wikipedia's established policies as to what is suitable for an article. WP:POLITICIAN basically draws a line between state politicians and local councillors, so this is why your article was proposed for deletion by two other editors. You said in an edit summary that your were learning with your first article, but unfortunately the subject you have chosen does not appear to meet criteria for inclusion. Please study WP:N for explanations of the policy. Do you have any personal interest in this councillor (WP:COI), or was it just that you picked him as a possible subject for inclusion in Wikipedia? I think you will find that most seasoned editors will agree that this particular article doesn't pass the notability test; I want to encourage you as a new editor so rather then sending your first page to WP:AFD for discussion I would recommend that you find a suitable article about the local council to add the content into. You can still keep the title as a redirect page to a section within a main article. If you disagree with this, and would rather seek the consensus of several other editors, we could send the article for review at AfD, but it may be better to find a new home for this content rather than have it pulled apart there. I'd recommend that as you wish to practice your editing skills you should learn by editing existing pages rather than create a new one; there are plenty that need work doing! Try joining a WikiProject for a subject that interests you which will give your work more impact by collaborating with other like-minded editors. I'm watching this page so please reply below with any questions I may be able to help with. —Baldy Bill (talk) 14:56, 27 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
