Good morning. I'm doing some work on the history of the flag of the Κριτικι Πολιτεια. Ι wonder if you can tell me the source of your illustration of the personal arms of Prince George? The reason I ask is that the star on the Cretan flag does not appear to be that of the legally recognised flag of the state, and I'm trying to find out just how widespread its use was.Mickmct (talk) 12:06, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
Many thanks for your swift reply. I was aware of the 'Bethlehem' flag and it's origin but my understanding is that the 'legal' flag was the one imposed by the Powers when George took over and that had a simple 5 point star with all the arms the same length. The majority of the photographs taken around that time show that official flag, there appear to be relatively few showing the 'Bethlehem' flag.
