Speedy deletion nomination of Hooter T. Owl

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hooter T. Owl requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a specific animal, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. AllyD (talk) 22:25, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ermahgerd

edit

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ermahgerd, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.memeorigin.com/ermahgerd/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Ermahgerd-berks.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 17:56, 19 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Recent edits to Larry Kane

Hello, and thank you for your recent contributions. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit(s) because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Please also review WP:COI because it appears you may have a conflict of interest. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! Hi MeggMcN! Your edit has lots of good information in it, but does not follow Wikipedia's Manual of Style for biographies. I moved your copy of the article to User:MeggMcN/sandbox, so we can work on integrating it into the article. Let's discuss further at Talk:Larry Kane. Thanks!   Please do not assume ownership of articles such as Larry Kane because the subject of the article has asked you to make the changes. If you aren't willing to allow your contributions to be edited extensively or be redistributed by others, please do not submit them. Your best course is to propose edit changes on the talk page. Thank you. Please see the talk page. Capitalismojo (talk) 15:49, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi MeggMcN - I spent quite a while last night looking for reliable sources for the article, and it's good to see that you have provided some too! You might want to look at the structure of Wikipedia articles for other television news anchors, such as Peter Jennings (one of Wikipedia's featured articles), Walter Cronkite, and Dan Rather. Let's work together at Talk:Larry Kane to improve his as well. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 16:39, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hello again, I don't want you to get discouraged. Some of your edits are quite good and I would also note that COI editing is not against policy, no matter how unwise it is. Each edit is supposed to be based on its own merits. It is strongly discouraged for very good reasons. Which is why I suggest taking any concerns to the article talk page. But don't give up, you have already brought positive attention and improvements to the article. Capitalismojo (talk) 20:16, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
