There has not been any official announcement from Nintendo about the release date. The only "source" that states that June 2 2011 is the release date is GameStop, who is notorious for announcing inaccurate release dates far ahead of time. GameStop uses placeholder dates in order to encourage people to start pre-ordering the game from them. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 12:19, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm referring to the EU release date of the Gamecube iteration of the title; I updated it to 2004 from 2002, which was reverted. That, specifically, is where I'm confused, because I'm fairly sure the 2004 date is accurate, and I can't find anything which corroborates the 2002 claim.

I couldn't quickly find a source said that June 2, 2004 was the release date, so it appeared to be vandalism at first sight. Upon further investigation, I have found the release date. The year is 2004 (so I apologize for the revert) though it is on September 24, instead of June 2. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 12:34, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Wait a minute... it was September 24, 2004! Some IP changed it from September 24 to June 2 after my revert. So why couldn't I find it...? I'm confused...but don't worry, the entire mishap was my fault apparently. >_< --ThomasO1989 (talk) 12:47, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Oooh, a quick heads-up: Just noticed the same update that put the June date in also hit the Australian release date. I'm afraid I've no idea when that one was, but might be worth just checking on that.Mclem (talk) 12:54, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
