There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Also, the content you added was not only promotional, it was copy pasted from elsewhere. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 18:54, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Yes, this is the account of MBO Partners. I reverted the page to previous edits, as a poster "Mean as Custard" had inserted outdated and incorrect information about our services. The intent is not to be promotional, but to correct mis-information posted on the page. I do not understand how this could or should block the account

Decline reason:

Sorry, but MBO Partners is not allowed to have an account, as the English Wikipedia does not allow company or group accounts - only accounts for individuals. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 19:39, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You added promo content 17 December 2015 too. You are here to promote your organization, and so was the WP:COI account User:Andrewggordon84 who I will block too. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:09, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
It appears that Andrewggordon84 and Mbopartners were operated by the same person. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:30, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

{{unblock|Yes, I reverted the page back to the changes written in December 2015 because they are factual, not promotional. You are welcome to edit to remove what you see as promotional content, but the page as I edited it, twice now, is factually incorrect. I respectfully request that you unblock the account and stop reverting the page to a version that is factually incorrect.}}

You are blocked for having a company account. You are also blocked because it appears you are only here to promote your organization.
No you did not revert the page back. You introduced promotional content that does not appear in a December 2015 version.
You are also ignoring my claim that this is the second account you have used to add promo content. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:01, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yes, they are the same person. I am not ignoring the claim; merely addressing more pressing issues at hand, such as why I remain blocked. I respectfully request that you indicate what content you see as promotional so that I can fix it. How am I able to clear up discrepancies with my company without using a company account? It seems disingenuous to do so as an individual, if I am in fact an employee.

You, Mbopartners, just said "my company" while admitting to being Andrewggordon84. Well, you (Andrewggordon84) just said "...am no longer employed by MBO Partners...". Care to explain? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:15, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Andrew left the company in October 2016. He made the changes when he was employed. He is no longer employed here. I am not Andrewggordon84. I am his former boss. Andrew made the changes that I authorized when he was employed.

When you said "...they are the same person...", who is "they"? You need to be clear. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:23, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

So.... First of all... now you are talking with the head of marketing at MBO Partners, Kris Stevens. Now, some explanation... Andrew Gordon worked at MBO at one time. He is no longer with the company. McLean Robbins has since taken over that account to ensure the page is accurate and timely, as appropriate. Is one of the issues here that we not allowed to manage our own page? If not, I would love to know how to correct incorrect information which older posts contain. We are happy to comply with whatever standards you are concerned about though we do not believe that the content is promotional in nature. That said we are happy to increase its factual relevance if you can provide some advice so we can do better.

McLean Robbins took over what account? When asked if Mbopartners and Andrewggordon84 are the same person, you said "...they are the same person...". You are not being clear. I also see evidence that the same person who edited using Andrewggordon84 also edited using Mbopartners.
I can tell you where this is going to save us a lot of time: You will almost certainly not be unblocked, regardless of whether or not you are operating both Mbopartners or Andrewggordon84. You have been deceptive, obfuscating, and frankly, I think you are all the same person. You added plainly promotional content while claiming otherwise. You have added copy pasted content. You claimed you were reverting to an old version, when that isn't true. You have a conflict of interest and are here to promote, not to remove promo content. That is clear and why you are here and the fact that you are in charge of marketing and advertising reinforces that. The article will take care of itself by neutral editors, if it survives at Wikipedia at all.
Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:48, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

This is Kris Stevens again. To answer your question... mbopartners is an account managed by us (MBO Partners). At one time, Andrew contributed, on behalf of MBO Partners, this page. Now that he is no longer with the company, McLean is managing the MBO Partners account, thus contributing to the page to ensure accuracy. So, it may appear to be the same person... and it is, indeed, the same organization however, the responsibility for maintaining accuracy has now transferred to McLean.

In other words. The MBO Partners account is currently managed by McLean as part of her responsibilities in working for MBO.

I'm sorry that you seem to be assuming ill intent or egregious promotion... we are not... we are just trying to get the page to be accurate, which means updating the names of some of our executives, updating some product information (as some listed on the older pages are no longer offered) and the like. You seem angry... I'm not trying to make you angry, I'm just trying to solve the problem. Any assistance/ advice you can provide would be most appreciated.21:04, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

As I explained when I declined your unblock request, above, you are not allowed to have an MBO Partners account, as Wikipedia does not allow company/organization/role accounts. Individual persons can have their own personal accounts, so you, Kris Stevens, can create your own account to be used only by you. Likewise, McLean Robbins can create her own account for her own personal contributions to Wikipdia, but you can not have this company account operated by multiple people serially. This account will not be unblocked, and to save any further waste of time I have revoked your ability to edit this page. If you wish to appeal further, please see WP:UTRS.
