Your prods of several "List of ski areas and resorts in ..."

Hi Mausy5043,

Please stop prodding or AFDing these lists. I think that this is counterproductive, and that you are misunderstanding the point of these lists, so let me try to clarify things for you.

You state your reason in the prods as "A similar overview is already present in the category Category:Ski areas and resorts in ... . Since this article merely duplicates information already present in Wikipedia, I feel that it can be deleted." But your reasoning is not correct. The various "Category:Ski areas and resorts in ..." include only Wikipedia articles which already exist, while the "List of ski areas and resorts in ..." includes many, many red links which are intended to encourage new article creation. This is an important part of their reason for existence. The Lists are a large SUPERSET of the information in the Categories, and not a mere duplication.

Your prodding or AFDing these lists only serves to undermine the efforts of Wikipedia:WikiProject Ski to expand and improve Wikipedia's coverage, and deleting the lists is unlikely to improve the encyclopedia in any way. I think it is a waste of everyone's time and effort to deal with this. I realize that you are trying in good faith to improve the encyclopdia, so please consider some other avenue for doing so instead of prodding or AFDing such legitimate, useful lists.

Also, please note the ALL ski areas meet Wikipedia's standard for notability, since ALL of them receive independent coverage in the press multiple times, so please don't target those articles for deletion either. A frutiless and wasteful battle was already fought over that issue, several months ago.

Thanks for reconsidering your deletion efforts. --Seattle Skier (talk) 20:04, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello, i'm a new user here at WP and have made my first significant contribution to the article Ceramic engineering, and i was hoping you could comment on my work and suggust any changes. I saw that you had edited the page previously, and like myself, are an engineer(i'm a student). Part of my assignment for my technical communications class is to solicite feedback for my article and make revisions based on the feedback. Thanks! Apadget 16:43, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
