Jordi Cruyff

edit

Please do not revert this article again. There is a consensus that there is no need to include the "FC" in clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, etc. – PeeJay 19:02, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please respect the consensus on this issue. Any more reverts and I will be forced to report you for incessant disruptive editing. – PeeJay 00:04, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have reported you for, I believe, being a sockpuppet of User:Bruninho. Please leave your comments on the situation at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Bruninho. Thanks. – PeeJay 00:28, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edit warring at Jordi Cruyff

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Jordi Cruyff. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution.

The issue of whether to write 'FC Barcelona' or 'Barcelona' for the football team has been discussed at User talk:Bruninho#Warning on FC Barcelona versus Barcelona. There appears to be a consensus of the football project that, in English, we should be saying 'Barcelona' when it is obvious that the team is meant and not the city, Barcelona. If you think the present consensus is wrong, you can work to get it changed. Reverting the article is not the way to achieve that, since you will just get blocked from editing. Unblocked

edit

Immediately after I post this, I will unblock you. It's important that you engage in discussion, if you continue to edit war you will be blocked again. You're account's new so I'm presuming that you're unfamiliar with the ins and outs of wikipedia. According to PeeJay2K3 (talk · contribs) there is a consesnsus regarding the use of "FC" when writing about Barcelona football club (and presumably others) in articles. Consesnsu on wikipedia has usually been arrived at after a lot of discussion, so while you were probably unaware of it going against it is not a good idea. Editors will revert your ediits if they go against consensus. When this happens, simply reverting is ineffective. The best way to proceed is to ask the other editor why your edit was reverted.

When you are unblocked I want you to participate in the discussion over on PeeJay's talk page (or if you want, another place can be chosen to discuss the issue). Please to not go back to adding "FC" before Barcelona in articles or I will reblock you. The same goes for PeeJay if he continues to edit war. Nev1 (talk) 00:59, 16 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
