Speedy deletion of Camp Calleva

edit

A tag has been placed on Camp Calleva requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 15:57, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Removal of Speedy Deletion Templates

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. While you have followed correct procedure by placing a {{hangon}} tag on the Calleva page, you also removed the speedy deletion tag from the page. This may well have been unintentional, but the deletion template must stay in place, along with the hangon tag. If you haven't already done so, you are recommended to voice your views on the speedy deletion nomination on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Booglamay (talk) - 16:42, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, sorry. I may have inadvertantly replaced the deletion tag with the hangon tag. I have disputed the deletion on the talk page. Thank you!Callevacamp (talk) 16:56, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: it is closely related to an organization you have created articles for. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you. Kevin (talk) 23:10, 23 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your concern is a valid one. I am new to this, and see where you are coming from. I will change my name. Thank you for your concern! Callevacamp (talk) 01:10, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

New username

Please post to my talk page when/if you get your new username - I asked Gwen to restore your article, which needs some serious work pretty fast if we're to avoid deletion again. Tan ǀ 39 14:24, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

A note has been left on the WP:CHU page requiring your attention. Thanks, PeterSymonds (talk) 15:26, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can modify the page by taking out your old choice and replacing it with your new one. Then leave a note for the bureaucrats letting them know that your choice has changed. Hope this helps. Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 15:59, 24 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Camp Calleva

edit

The article Camp Calleva has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable camp... nothing to show this subject passes WP:N

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Oo7565 (talk) 00:56, 12 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
