Image policy

edit

Hi. Do you need some help with images? --Guinnog 23:40, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please take me up on my offer above, or else inform yourself otherwise about our image use policy. Nonfree images are only allowed under fair use provisions. Please stop uploading nonfree images under other licences and editing articles to include them, as it makes work for somebody else to delete them. Thanks in advance, --Guinnog 00:01, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

but those images aren't in copyright. --Master_fx

Then the onus is on you to show that. Uploading them as Wikipedia-use only or non-profit use only isn't allowed. --Guinnog 00:09, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

sure, if next time i make the mistake feel free to help me edit it. thanx man! --Master fx 00:30, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

hows the image now? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/ea/Type_96G_MBT.jpg/800px-Type_96G_MBT.jpg--Master fx 00:54, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow. It's a great picture! Did you really take it yourself? I don't think you can get away with Wikipedia-only now though as I said. --Guinnog 01:29, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

These pictures are actually taken by a friend of my who now lives in China, and he sends these photos to me to post it onto this site for him.(my friend is not so good with website editing and English but he really enjoys this site)--Master fx 01:57, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

A question

edit

After my editing, does the changes occur immeditely? or else needs to be prove by the ppl in charge?--Master fx 16:03, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Changes appear immediately. If they aren't showing up, you may need to bypass your browser's cache. See WP:CACHE on instructions for how to do that for most browsers. Veinor (ヴエノル(talk)) 17:17, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

but wat if someone is messing around with articles? is there anyway to protect it from the public?--Master fx 19:57, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, there is, but the usual course is to block whoever's messing around. Full protection is generally only done in case of several people vandalising an article at the same time from many different IPs. Veinor (ヴエノル(talk)) 23:20, 14 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on Image:Type 96G.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Wikipedia-use only, not free enough

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:Image:Type 96G.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Megapixie (talk) 05:16, 19 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
