Hey if you can help me out, it would be great. It seems one of your images of the telecubine of lahijan has been deleted for some copyright image. Can you figure out what has happened and try to restore the image. It was a great picture.

1001 Nights

Thanks for deleting my intro to the 1001 Nights, though it was by far the most encyclopedic thing on the page. I think you did so because of the reference to Hazar Elfsenah, which really does not exist.

Wikipedia has lost me as a contributer. I will be putting the info up on my own website, and continuing to do my PHD dissertation focusing on the 1001 Nights, something I know a little about.

Barefact, I reverted back your edit because it did contain removal of sourced material. As alidoostzadeh said, you can't remove the statement about Scythians being Iranian because it is a generaly accepted theory. Of course nothing is certain about scythians and there are some disputes but matters as old as scythians are mostly disputed. Scythians are categorized as Iranian people because according to the scythian inscriptions that were found their language was an eastern Iranian language.(Marmoulak 18:58, 8 September 2006 (UTC))

They are removing sourced information. If they revert again, do not engage them in an edit war, just notify an admin that they have been continuously taking out sourced information. Marmoulak, if you activate your e-mail, I will try to send you the Brzezinski pages tonight. (I would prefer not to post them publicly; I'm comfortable that showing you the pages for your review is fair use, because they're only a few pages and they're the minimum necessary for you to review the citations for accuracy, but I'm not confident that posting them publicly would qualify as fair use.)

In general, if you get a chance to pick up the Brzezinski book from one of the internet booksellers or interlibrary loan, I would recommend it. Brzezinski's memoirs have a lot of reflections regarding the fall of the Shah (way too many to scan), and I think the memoirs would be very interesting for an Iran history buff like you. Two Articles in need of your attention

There are two entries at Wikipedia, which have falsely created -- they are Turco-Persian and Turko-Persian Tradition. Both entries are factitious. I have requested the entries to be deleted. My reasons are:

The term Turko-Persian Tradition (or Turco-Persian) does not exists academically and it is a factitious entry! Check the Encyclopaedia Iranica to confirm -- The correct name for that culture is the Persianate culture not the "Turko-Persian". Turkophones (mostly of mixed race and Persianized in culture) only spoke in Turkic dialects and were in the military. That is not enough participation in creating and forming the culture to deserve the name "Turko-Persian Tradition" – This is misinformation. All the elements in that area, which have to do with tradition and culture, were drawn from the Iranian culture (Persian, Kurdish, Azari, Baluchi, Tajik, Luri, Gilaki, Talishi, Mazandarani, etc.), and the Islamic faith, not much Turkic elements (like shamanism, yurts etc.) were incorporated in. That is what makes the name "Turko-Persian" an imaginary one and therefore the entry should be deleted.

Well, I use an edit summary for every edit — it's not much of a chore. More importantly, your edit-summary usage is not only 0& for minor edits, but only 19% for major edits ([3]; compare mine). Leaving aside the fact that it's a courtesy to other editors, and a practice requested by Wikipedia, an edit with no edit summary is usually an unexplained edit, and so much more likely to reverted. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:19, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Please do not remove reliably sourced, cited information from the article as "original research" -- it is not. Also, while you are correct that Galland's claim that two or more tales came from different, later, sources, is not neutral, the removal of that claim is a misapplication of the NPOV policy -- the claim does not have to be neutral, as long as Wikipedia's presentation of it is. Since the text makes it clear that it is, in fact, Galland's claim, and the timeline is cited to two sources verifying that, NPOV isn't an issue. Shimeru 08:13, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
