Requested username:

Request reason:

I created Sunstar Company page and it was immediately blocked including IP. I was entering company information just like other companies Nestle, Colgate, etc.Mr Lynch - please unblock immediately

Decline reason:

Interesting. I can find no sign of this account being blocked, or of you having edited a page about Sunstar Gum. Indeed, I cannot find that anyone has created a page about Sunstar Gum (there ia a page Sunstar about a horse). The name you are suggesting would bring down an almost immediate block (given time for it to be patrolled, reported and looked at). Please see WP:USERNAME. Also, I would suggest reading WP:COI if you arte connected closely with or to the company. In the meantime, what message gives you the impression that you are blocked, or what other account was the block encountered on? Peridon (talk) 17:11, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Please include Sunstar Company (and company, and Co, and co, and gum) in the pages I can't find. Peridon (talk) 17:15, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Found it now. Your block was as User:Sunstar Company, and under WP:USERNAME, that account cannot be unblocked under that name. If a change of name is requested, it should be under that account. I've looked at the deleted userpage, and found it to be pure promotion, unlike the articles you mention above (which are not written by the companies concerned, but by ordinary editors). To save the hassle of changing name, I would be happy enough with you using this account - but not for the purpose of editing about Sunstar as there does seem to be either a company based conflict of interest, or a professional conflict of interest as a PR person, perhaps. The other account stays blocked. Peridon (talk) 17:53, 17 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
