My purpose in editing entries in wikipedia:

edit

I am a communications specialist and I wanted to introduce the world to key leaders in Israel who have made a global impact in their respective fields. In the research and the documentation of these people, all respected and reliable sources have been cited. Marjieruthhadad (talk) 16:41, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

How to solve the COI problem?

edit

{{helpme}} I have written two pages Amir Gal-Or and Yossi Gross. Both have received COI templates from user hipocrite and I would like someone to review both articles and suggest specific revisions to be made in case of a bias.

I have made many changes to both entries and wish for assistance.

Thank you very much. --Marjieruthhadad (talk) 16:41, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Remove any facts that are not referenced by independent reliable sources. For example, the first article begins by saying "Before embarking on this career he was a pilot in the Israeli Air Force and its acrobatic team." - the reference (1) does not mention this. Later, it says, "Gal-Or is the first of two including his brother Gillad (1967). Gal-Or was born on September 5, 1962 in Haifa, Israel. His parents, Leah and Benjamin, are professors at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Gal-Or’s mother specializes in chemistry and materials; his father is an expert in aeronautics and machinery. " - is there a reliable source for this? If not, remove it. The same applies to all the facts in both articles.
Remove all the spammy stuff that reads like an advert - for example, "This approach capitalizes on the fast growing Chinese economy and Israeli know-how and technology. Infinity's added value for investors and portfolio companies lies in being able to offer knowledge, network and experience of each culture and capitalize on the strength of both" - this is not neutral and not encyclopaedic language. There are lots of peacock terms and weasel words.
Please read WP:BESTCOI. After removing things as above, you should not edit the articles directly yourself (if you do indeed have a conflict of interest). If you manage to improve the references and remove the unfereferenced parts, you might seek help with the problems by asking for a peer review, or asking for feedback to get others to edit the article and remove the COI issues.
Good luck with it.  Chzz  ►  16:57, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is the COI problem Solved?

edit

{{helpme}} I have taken the helpful advice noted above. I would like your further assistance on the Yossi Gross and Amir Gal-Or entries please. Do they look o.k. now?

Thank you very much for your feedback. Marjieruthhadad (talk) 10:17, 19 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
