I think the widely accepted standard can only be applied to places that don't have hate crime legislation or for crimes that occurred before hate crime legislation. In the case of the Christian/Newsom murders, the prosecutors specifically said it was not a hate crime, thus we really can't call it one. AniMate 03:27, 22 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
