Wikipedia is not about giving legal opinion but actual facts. It is a fact that Quebec unilaterally claims to have amended the Constitution Act of 1867. This fact cannot be hidden from the community.

Section 166 of the Act respecting French, the official and common language of Québec (S.Q. 2022, c. 14) provides the following :

159. The Constitution Act, 1867 (30 & 31 Victoria, c. 3 (U.K.); 1982, c. 11 (U.K.)) is amended by inserting the following after section 90:

“FUNDAMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF QUEBEC

“90Q.1. Quebecers form a nation.

“90Q.2. French shall be the only official language of Quebec. It is also the common language of the Quebec nation.”

Thank you Emmett Macfarlane for not changing it again. It is not for you to decide whether the Quebec amendment is an attempted or an illegitimate one. You are not the Supreme Court of Canada. Deciding for the community what should be on that Wikipedia page based on your judgement alone borders on totalitarianism.

August 2023 edit

Hi Mariemaude! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you.

You have violated WP:3RR by reverting four times in the past 24 hours.

  1. 02:30, 9 August 2023 to 07:28, 6 August 2023
  2. 03:27, 9 August 2023 partial to 02:30, 9 August 2023‎
  3. 00:57, 10 August 2023 partial to 10:30, 9 August 2023
  4. 01:25, 10 August 2023 to 00:57, 10 August 2023

Indeed, almost your entire editing history consists of edits to Amendments to the Constitution of Canada and, of your 18 edits to that page, at least half are full reverts (not counting the partials). I suggest you use the talk page more. MIESIANIACAL 01:51, 10 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
