Stevia

edit

Hello, I notice you changed the Romanian name for stevia in the stevia article, with the reasoning that the South American stevia and Romanian Stevia are from different families and therefore different plants.

However, this article concerns primarily the single spiecies Stevia rebaudiana, the plant known for its sweet properties. As far as I know it is the only species of stevia that can be used as a sweetener, and it appears to be the only species that has commercial value. The list of names in other countries also refer to the sweet species of this plant.

Would you please verify that the name you changed refers to the sweet plant, to maintain consistency with the others in the list? If the name you inserted does not refer to S. rebaudiana, then I suggest you change it back to how the sweet plant is referred to in Romania. Thanks. ~Amatulić (talk) 17:38, 6 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
