Thank you for responding, and again, welcome. In addition to the links above, you should read up on putting external links in articles, here WP:LINKS. I think you'll find that the links you added will likely be deleted as not being specific, relevant, or unique to those articles. Also, when editors are on the lookout for spammers, someone who is adding only links and not content to Wikipedia is usually assumed to be a spammer - since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a link repository. Good luck with editing, and look for some good content to add to the encyclopedia. ॐ Priyanath talk 21:08, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

More unsolicited advice :-)

Some more friendly advice about adding content - if you go to this page, WP:NOT, you'll see a lot of things that Wikipedia is not. One of them is that Wikipedia is not an instruction manual: "While Wikipedia has descriptions of people, places, and things, Wikipedia articles should not include instructions or advice (legal, medical, or otherwise), suggestions, or contain "how-to"s. This includes tutorials, walk-throughs, instruction manuals, video game guides, and recipes."

I've learned that guideline also includes yoga and meditation "how-to's". The main reason I'm telling you this is that your article on Viparita Karani could get deleted by a deletionist editor, and if you do alot of articles like this you may see alot of work get removed. I noticed that all of your links have already been removed by other editors. Wikipedia can be very very frustrating until you learn the guidelines and protocols. But it can also be very rewarding - so it's worthwhile to spend some time reading the various guidelines here. I occasionally do Viparita Karani, so I have more of an appreciation for this sort of thing than most, but I also have seen comparable articles deleted or edited down to a simple description, without the "how-to" part. Cheers, ॐ Priyanath talk 05:06, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Great, it reads just like an encyclopedia article. By the way, I'm not just being pedantic with all of this - I've seen too many editors add articles only to see them deleted because they didn't fit for some reason. I wouldn't have deleted it myself, but somewhere down the road an eager editor might have started reverting your work. ॐ Priyanath talk 16:13, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
