Speedy deletion nomination of Judy Mikovits

edit

A tag has been placed on Judy Mikovits requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — Timneu22 · talk 15:17, 20 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ms. Mikovits may be sufficiently notable to be the subject of a Wikipedia article, but you haven't given anyone any reason -- any evidence -- to make it possible for anyone to verify that assertion. Reliable sources are an absolutely key element of every Wikipedia article; merely pointing the reader to a self-serving document produced by her employer is of little use. As well, a single sentence isn't enough information to even form the basis of an article to which others could contribute; the reader isn't told anything useful about the topic. Have a look at this introductory material before having another go at this, and be sure that, in an article about Ms. Mikovits, you provide us with information about her -- not a virus or company with which she is putatively associated, because that information more properly belongs in articles about those topics. If you have any questions about Wikipedia policy not answered by the links in this paragraph, feel free to contact me. Accounting4Taste:talk 16:12, 20 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
As I indicated, feel quite free to add actual information like this to an article about her. You don't need my permission or my assistance to create an article that tells us about her. The key is that articles have to contain information, and you pretty much have to put it there yourself if you want the article to remain here; it's no one's job here to go looking for it if you won't. Best of luck with your contributions. Accounting4Taste:talk 16:38, 20 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have nominated Judy Mikovits, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Judy Mikovits. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
