In the Cambridge Companion to Twentieth Century British and Irish Women's Poetry (2011), Lee Jenkins situates Byrne's poetics "in the global circuitry of diaspora, migration, and the information superhighway," identifying as a significant accomplishment that "she refuses to choose between formal innovation and radical theme," fusing commitments to both social justice and linguistic innovation.[1] In an interview with Sina Queyras on Harriet, the National Poetry Foundation blog, Byrne said, "I consider my work firmly in the tradition of Irish comic literature, both in early Irish and 20th century prose, especially Beckett and Flann O’Brien."[2] Michael Leong has described Byrne's approach as "steely-eyed.[3]

Please do not write an article about yourself , as you did at Mairéad Byrne. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged - see our guideline Writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedians with articles.) Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Gosh, is it actually you? I was going for the slightly softer "you may be a fan or you may be the real person." Anyway, if you have questions you want answered, click the "talk" after my name. - Aaron Brenneman (talk) 14:22, 7 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've put the material you added at a workspace within your area, User:Mairead clare byrne/Mairéad Byrne, so that you can continue to work on sources, etc. I copy/pasted it, which means that there are some technical issues with the attribution licensing but they are quite technical to most people, and only are important if/when you've got the material ready to move back to the "real" page. - Aaron Brenneman (talk) 14:55, 7 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Oh, and some find it hard to know which page to keep track of when having a conversation, but I tend to reply to a single subject in a single place. So I responded to your message on my talk page, but I'll be watching for any responses you have to this topic (the restoration of the deleted material) here. That made no sense, did it? - Aaron Brenneman (talk)
