Orphaned non-free media (File:KUBJ logo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:KUBJ logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:14, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

RTP-TV

Saw that you deleted the section on RTP-TV from Research Triangle. For what it's worth, here is the home page for it showing that it merged with the Raleigh Telegram in 2006. I still don't think it's notable enough for inclusion in the article on the Triangle, but it did exist. WildCowboy (talk) 20:59, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Not notable and unfortunately homestead sites aren't reliable sources either. I've worked in RTP for 20+ years and have never heard of RTP-TV.--RadioFan (talk) 22:13, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Krispy Kreme Challenge

Thanks for your message! The links were very helpful. I liked your edits on the page to compliment mine. However, regarding the other races, the Krispy Kreme Challenge is the event at NC State, and the other races are in no way affiliated with the Krispy Kreme Challenge. NC State's race is a licensed nonprofit (K2 Challenge, Incorporated), which is why I say it is THE Krispy Kreme Challenge. I thought our edits worked well together, but I just wanted to let you know this. There is a sentence now that says, "The event began in 2004 at North Carolina State University in Raleigh N.C. but has since spread to other universities." The idea has spread, but these other races are in no way affiliated with the NC State event. I am only concerned due to the potential legality of the matter, with regard to intellectual property rights and trademark conflicts. Once again, thank you for welcoming me to Wikipedia and thank you for helping me enhance the quality of this page for all to see! Have a great day, Rwmau (talk) 01:48, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Agreed and I think the article reflects that better now. The article is about the NC State event and the others are mentioned in their own section. The article no longer implies any direct relation, other than inspiration.--RadioFan (talk) 02:41, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

File source problem with File:423083main Shannahs 11-1600 1600-1200.jpg

Why "this file is free content in the United States but non-free or potentially non-free in its country of origin.". Despite lack of source in file description it is easy to check that it is a typical PD-NASA picture Bulwersator (talk) 08:12, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Mass adding of bot exclusion with AWB

I noticed you tagged a large number of files recently with {{bots|deny=Svenbot}}, but I see no indication as to why you did this and no attempt at communication with the bot operator. For some, such as File:CharmCityCakes.JPG, I see no reason for the bot to not tag it for transfer, although I would entirely understand were you to use {{Keep local}} to ask everyone (not just Svenbot) to keep the image here. For others, such as File:InOMN logo.png, if the bot is tagging them then it needs to be fixed ASAP as there is no reason it should be asking for non-free files to be moved to Commons. Anomie 16:54, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

I have communicated with the bot author, asked about blocking his bot from images and was provided that tag. There were other editors involved in that discussion as well. I was not aware of the {{Keep local}} tag and apprantly neither is this bot author, you might want to share that with them. For the record, I've seen no instances of non-free images being tagged.--RadioFan (talk) 18:48, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
"I've seen no instances of non-free images being tagged." - does it included non-free images with fair use templates or non-free tagged with bogus licences? Bulwersator (talk) 00:43, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Let me clarify, I've seen no issues with the bot tagging non-free images that are should not be copied to commons.--RadioFan (talk) 01:02, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
