Sophia Webster

Hi! I am replying to your comment on the Sophia Webster page about my removing the reference to the Bath Fashion thing. I manage Sophia Webster's PR and I removed it at her request because she told me that the article you referenced was factually inaccurate. The part that most offended was the claim she was inspired by liquorice all sorts which is not something Sophia has ever been inspired by. I would greatly appreciate if this could be removed once again from the page as the article you referenced is not accurate in itself. Do let me know if this will be possible.

Hello MissLaraCarter. Thank you for your honesty and full disclosure of your connection to Sophia Webster. I'm happy to remove the reference to liquorice allsorts from the article as it's really a very minor change, but I see no reason to remove the entire citation. In future, to play by the rules of Wikipedia, please could you request edits on Talk:Sophia Webster so that an neutral editor can review them first and make the edits if appropriate? Princess Alexandra of Denmark

Hi Mabalu, just spotted your change to Charles Frederick Worth. Does this mean we have to change Wedding dress of Princess Alexandra of Denmark – there seems to be a source attributing the dress to Charles Frederick Worth? Thanks Libby norman (talk) 18:09, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

The idea that Worth made this wedding dress is almost definitely complete and utter bollocks. It was a huge deal that the dress was of British manufacture with Queen Victoria insisting on Honiton lace etc, and the Royal Family of Denmark were comparatively impoverished and not really in a position for Worth's prices . The idea that the dress was by Worth is really a very recent thing and would surely have been highlighted in earlier books and documentation as he has always been such a legendary figure and if he'd made such a high profile dress it would certainly have been much more widely reported in all the things written on royal weddings in the last century. God, I just looked at that article - quite a bit of gibbering burble. Particularly like how the first quote says "completely Englisgh manufacture" which totally contradicts the Worth claim. Gonna do a quick fix up on this, it's a bit of a mess. Mabalu (talk) 21:26, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

I KNEW IT - it is pretty well documented that Alexandra's dress was made by a dressmaker in Belgravia called Mrs. James, but I couldn't remember her name offhand. In fact that was already in the article, so let's wipe out the Worth claim.
