Odd article

How about moving the images to a Wikimedia Commons gallery (and perhaps making a wikibook from the text)? Wikipeditor 16:57, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

MVCOL Comment:

This page is much more than just a "Gallery". It's a collection of unique pieces of art (as is the case of all art). However, they well represent the general categories of Korean pottery styles. Exposure to the visual presentation here is important to any serious student of Asian arts. One picture is truly worth a thousand words. Without photographs we would handicap our Wikipedia generation. I continue to provide increased documentation and references to validate information contained here. I consider your interest in this page important, and take your comments seriously.

Rebuild

edit

I enjoyed this page when I first saw it about a year ago. I have some of the public domain pictures that were originally posted here but have now been deleted. It has been sometime since the originator has posted. I just recently became a member of Wikipedia and am still learning how to post things. I will try to replace some of the pictures that have been deleted. I also think it is a good idea for anyone else to add their own examples of Korean pieces if they feel it will add to the educational value of this site. I have some of my own that I plan to add. I believe that it is in the best interest of Wikipedia to build up and not tear down. Mrkimlee 5 Oct 2008 —Preceding undated comment was added at 11:18, 5 October 2008 (UTC).Reply

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

Collection quality???

edit

Many of the pieces in this collection are blatantly mediocre. In addition the whole collection is termed "pottery" which is an absurdity. Iwanafish 1/6/07

Why Is This Article Still Here?

edit

This collection is a disgrace. Let us guess. It was gatherered by someone who spent a year in Korea and bought bargain art junk. An object can be a thousand years old and still be a piece of junk. Most of this collection is junk.--Iwanafish 05:42, 14 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

All of the pieces in this article are from a single private collection.

edit

Hi, User:MVCOL. All of the pieces in this article are from a single personal collection. I do not think so-called "Colaianni Collection" is notable to have an independent article in Wikipedia. This is against the Wikipedia policy: Wikipedia:PROMOTION, Wikipedia:NOTE. How about to promote your family's collection on your personal blog or better on your own web page, if you can manage it. It will be huge catastrope, if the owners of every single collections would attempt to have an article for their own benefit. If you have a sincere interest in Korean pottery than to advert for your family's private collection, please rewrite this article. Conprix (talk) 14:54, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
