Wikipedia is written from a neutral point of view. We strive for articles that document and explain the major points of view in a balanced impartial manner. We try to avoid advocacy and we characterize issues rather than debate them. In some areas there may be just one well-recognized point of view; in other areas we describe multiple points of view, presenting each accurately and in context, and not presenting any point of view as "the truth" or "the best view". All articles must strive for verifiable accuracy: unreferenced material may be removed, so please provide references. Editors' personal experiences, interpretations, or opinions do not belong here. That means citing verifiable, authoritative sources, especially on controversial topics and when the subject is a living person.

Table tennis edit

Hello, I see you are very active on table tennis wikipages. I'm the founder of the Table Tennis project on Wikipedia. The project tries to coordinate the efforts of wikipedians on table tennis pages to improve the coverage of our topic. You can see the project page at Wikipedia:WikiProject Table tennis.

We also have an useful software tool to automatically update the medaltemplate of the players. And we need some effort in this point. Let me now if you are interested in collaborating. You can reply here... Cialo (talk) 12:29, 27 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Cialo! While I'm very interested in Table Tennis, I'm very unskilled at computer programming. I'm quite certain I'm too incompetent to help you with any given software tool, unfortunately, but I don't mind updating stuff manually. I will visit your project site and see what's there! Thank you for contacting me. Lynnettian (talk) 05:08, 31 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello Lynnettian, I have a simple job for you. You should be responsible for the updating of the medaltemplates of all the players included in the List of table tennis players. You should not modify the sotware tool, you should only use it. The tool automatic generates the infobox to be inserted in the players' bios. It is very useful to avoid very boring work of checking the ITTF database. You can try to use it at the following link:

http://193.205.83.89/cgi-bin/infobox_tt.cgi

On the same page you will also find the istructions to use it. The infobox generated by the tool contains a medaltemplate section including results achieved in the following tournaments: Olympic Games, Table Tennis World Championships, Table Tennis World Cup, and the continental championships (e.g. Table Tennis European Championships for european players).

Try the tool and let me know if you are interested in this job ;). Btw... I have included your name in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Table tennis page. Cialo (talk) 13:42, 2 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
