OK - so, now how do I delete this page - user - etc?

You cannot delete the user account [1]. However, it appears you CAN delete this talk page [2]:

I'm assuming you could argue that this page contains personal information, and they would delete it... but I'm not really sure. You can try asking an administrator. If you need someone more knowledgeable than me to help you, type {{help me}} here and ask what you need help with. I'm sure whoever answers will be more qualified to answer your questions than me.--TheAlphaWolf 17:03, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Child - see if this works. How does "he" find your pages ... or does he just have that much free time? How sad that if given the gift of a lifetime, to travel the world, that he spends it policing the Internet bahavior of others. I really hope his intentions were merely to be helpful and not to be doing otherwise.

It's quite easy actually. Click "history" at the top. I have already told an administrator about this, and it's up to him/her what will happen. You are NOT allowed to use wikipedia as a social networking site [3] or a blog, personal messaging service, etc. --TheAlphaWolf 05:22, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • So TheAlphaWolf why is this so important to you? Why do you feel the need to read other's pages and post, report and police? I am truly curious. Are you a random wiki person, or are you one of SASers?

I'm a random wikipedian. It's important to me for a variety of reasons. First, I like wikipedia and I don't like people abusing it. That is also why I feel the need to "police" as you put it, and report. I actually haven't read anything you have been talking about, other than skimming through to see if anyone was talking to me. Secondly, I think you don't realize that the internet, and especially wikipedia, are NOT anonymous. ANYONE can see every single word you have ever typed into wikipedia. Every time you do an edit, it shows up in the "recent changes" section and there are a LOT of people who constantly monitor the recent changes (for vandalism). There is also the history tab at the top, which allows anyone to see who wrote what and when.... and there is also other stuff. --TheAlphaWolf 05:41, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Well, TheAlphaWolf - I am sorry you feel the need to spend so much time checking to see if people are talking about you. I did a little checking around Wikipedia and see there is a lot of personal material listed on pages that have nothing to do with the general intention of Wikipedia. This may be blended with other things such as favorite links, but it's still personal. As I read through much of what they had to say, I took that this is for exchange of ideas, but by no means is it exclusive to that. How unrealistic would that be? While you have every right to report what you like, would it not be reasonable to look beyond the surface to see why one might need to use it in this manner? Yes, indeed nothing is private and as such there must be a reason to use this format. I dare say, I found pages upon pages, upon pages that are taking space and yet are really offering nothing of value. Yet, they have signed up, signed on and take space. You have reported us, and as I said, that is your right. I would like to ask of you to cut a little slack as this will not be an ongoing situation ... And, to be honest with you, I knew little about Wikipedia before this and am quite impressed with it. I appreciate that I am not flooded with advertising and actually was thinking about clicking that little "make a donation" link because I do appreciate what it is, and what it will give me for the next month or two ... unless we get the ax.

This is getting kind of personal. I really don't want to get into ad hominem arguments. I still consider myself a newbie here in wikipedia, and so I will let the administrator deal with it. If he/she's fine with you using wikipedia as a messaging service then fine. --TheAlphaWolf 06:08, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • You are right, it is becoming personal. I don't mean it to be. Perhaps I have gotten the wrong information, but I was under the impression that you are following this ... as indicated when you did indeed read the post that got you back to my page here. Now, I do appreciate that you have been kind enough to answer my questions, and from what you said most recently, I am assuming this is the end of it. You reported and now we will see what happens. But, just so you know, there is a limited life to this and soon you will not see us (okay, probably not soon enough for you). So, TheAlphaWolf, thank you for your indulgence in my questions and good night. Best wishes to you.

Quick reply- I AM following this. All the pages are in my watchlist. However, I was NOT reading what you were saying to each other. I really don't care what some random people I've never met are saying to each other. It's none of my business. I'm watching the pages because I made an edit talking about wikipedia policy, and I have the pages in my watchlist to see if you replied... which you did. Oh, and happy valentine's day! --TheAlphaWolf 06:30, 14 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you - Happy Valentine's Day to you too.
