Leadwerks feature list

edit

Every time you edit a Wikipedia page, just underneath the save page button it says, "Do not copy text from other websites without a GFDL-compatible license. It will be deleted." The text of that page had been copied from http://leadwerks.com/leadwerks_features.htm and I deleted it under Wikipedia's Criteria for speedy deletion, specifically G12, blatant copyright infringement. You can read Wikipedia:Copyrights for more on the subject. You mentioned on my talk page that the feature list was needed to allow readers to see if it fits their needs—please note that Wikipedia is not a guide or instruction manual (See Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not). It's fine to provide an encyclopedic overview of the subject, but it is not our purpose to help readers select software engines.

I think you'll find the links in the welcome above to be useful. If you decide to stick around and become familiar with Wikipedia policies, you'll find this a great experience. Are you the same user as Tylerp9p? Feel free to ask if you have any questions. Pagrashtak 04:20, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Leadwerks Engine Feature List

edit

Hi, I'm not the same user as Tylerp9p. However, I and Tylerp9p are official beta testers and documentation creators for the Leadwerks Engine. We do have full permissions from Joshua Klint to copy the Feature List to Wikipedia. How can I proove that we have full consent to copy information from the Leadwerks web page to Wikipedia?

Unfortunately, Wikipedia-only approval is not sufficient. We require that our content be reusable, which requires approval to be used in projects beyond Wikipedia. If the copyright holder is willing to release the text under the GFDL, then it can be added. Please note, however, that we would prefer to have a discussion of the engine in prose, not a list (see Wikipedia:Embedded list). Since you have ties to the article's subject, you should become familiar with our COI guideline (Wikipedia:Conflict of interest). When leaving a message on a talk page, please add ~~~~ to the end of your post. This will sign and time stamp your message. Pagrashtak 14:20, 5 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
