Article shortlisted for ISCB Computational Biology Wikipedia Competition
editDear LuisPedroCoelho
I am writing on behalf of the ISCB Wikipedia Computational Biology Competition judging panel to let you know that your contribution on Bioimage informatics has been shortlisted. We would like to thank you for your contribution to computational biology knowledge. As part of the judging process we need you to identify yourself to us and provide proof of your status as a student or trainee. I would be grateful if you could contact me preferably by e-mail (see here for details: http://www.ebi.ac.uk/Information/Staff/person_maintx.php?s_person_id=1648).
Thank you again for your entry!
ISCB Wikipedia Competition 2013
editDear LuisPedroCoelho,
I thought that you would be interested to know that the International Society for Computational Biology was running its Wikipedia competition again this year. You can find out more at the URL below:
To enter you must still be a student or post-doctoral trainee. I would also be grateful if you could also let your colleagues know about the competition as we would like to get even more great entries this year :-)
Best wishes. Alexbateman (talk) 14:32, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
Bioimage Software Article Needs Expert Review
editHello LuisPedroCoelho,
As someone with expertise in Bioimage Informatics, I would like to ask if you could please review this Wikipedia article regarding Image Studio Lite. Image Studio Lite is free image processing software offered by my company (see my user page) for analyzing Western blots and gels. This article was written to be informative.
The article has been submitted to the Articles for Creation for Wikipedia editors to review and approve. This submission route is best practice for editors with close associations who wish to publish a Wikipedia article. It would be great if you, as an informatics expert, could review this article for verifiability, noteworthiness, and neutral point of view. Any feedback you can offer will be extremely valuable.
Please help me make this article a substantive addition to Wikipedia’s coverage of bioimage processing software.
Brief Bio: To avoid information asymmetry, here is a little aside about me. I am a Science Writer for LI-COR Biosciences. I recently graduated from a Big Ten School with my B.S. in Chemistry. In college, I was able to work as a Research Assistant in Biochemistry, interned as an Analytical Chemist, and worked as a Bioinformatics Technician preparing Gaussian input files from PDB data obtained via RCSB. Although I am deeply interested in the power of computers and data to explain impossibly complex biological interactions, another internship in technical writing inspired me to pursue science writing as a career.
Thank you for your time and I appreciate any help you can offer,
