Re:Deletion

edit

If you read through the links I offer in the edit notice for my talk page, you'd have found the answer yourself; but I suppose I'll explain further since its the first challenge of a deletion in the year for me.

The simple answer is that the page was in open violation of too many wikipedia policies, which is what lead to the tag being added in the first place. When I found the page through the categories for deletion I had a choice of whether to accept the rational for the deletion or to decline, and I accepted because I judged the article to be too far past the point of no return to be salvageable. Your rational for notability is admirable, but the shifting standards for notability mean that the band is not yet notable enough for its own article here.

Now that the article has been deleted you have a few options on how to proceed. You can attempt to petition the community for the return of your page through the request for deletion review, you can ask an administrator for a copy of the deleted article PROVIDED that the copy is placed on a user subpage and that you intend to work on deleted copy, or can attempt to recreate the article in such a way that it better conforms to wikipedia policies and guidelines. Recreation of deleted material is grounds for speedy deletion on wikipedia, so if you intend to recreate the article you should make an effort to improve the article before readding it; otherwise, it will simply end up redeleted. Speedy deletion nomination of The Kiki Twins

edit

A tag has been placed on The Kiki Twins requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 02:25, 28 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
