editHello, I'm SuperMarioOdyssy101. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. SuperMarioOdyssy101 (talk) 07:54, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hello SuperMarioOdyssy101. Would you please specify what was exactly promotional? Your nickname sounds also promotional to me :D Loveearthsheprovides4u (talk) 07:56, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
- You are not allowed to add any external links within the actual text of Wikipedia articles, as you did at Kundalini yoga, we don't do it; and you also must not make any attempt to add any sort of link to promote any particular brand of yoga, such as Sahaja yoga. That would be especially serious if you were personally connected to that brand, but even if you aren't, it wouldn't be appropriate for anyone to add such a link where you did as it does indeed look promotional. Finally, nobody should be adding anything to any article without a) good reason and b) citing a reliable independent source. Hope this is clear.
- The reason for all this is simple: Wikipedia is and must be seen to be neutral, honest, reliable, unbiased, and non-commercial; and it relies totally on the quality of sources that it cites, so we mustn't include anything in a way that makes it look as if it's cited when it isn't; or anything that's uncited.
