Regarding your edits to Jesus, George W. Bush, and related articles:

Please understand that Wikipedia is not the place to peddle your books; neither is it the place to insert your unscholarly theories regarding the lineages of certain historical and living figures. I consider your edits as a whole to be spam, and your assertions of e.g., Bush being directly related to Jesus to be self-serving and idiosyncratic at best, and nonsensical and needlessly provocative at worst. I must therefore ask you to stop making these sorts of edits. To learn more about contributing here, please see our welcome page.

I should also take this opportunity to inform you of our three revert rule, which you have nearly broken at The Da Vinci Code. Simply put, you can be temporarily blocked from editing if you revert the same page within the same 24-hour period. Please be mindful of this. Thanks. -- Hadal 21:18, 8 Mar 2005 (UTC)

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

Don't remove VfD tags. Doing so is 'unquestionably vandalism, and wikipedia bans vandals. Why don't you take your useless spam off to somewhere that takes advertising, because wikipedia doesn't and you have exactly zero chance of succeeding in dumping your garbage here. -- John Fader (talk · contribs) 01:11, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Welcome!

edit

Hi Lords Page, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)
