Disambiguation link notification for October 13 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kate Grace, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Marlborough School. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:21, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not use bare URLs edit

To avoid link rot, please do not use bare URLs, as you did in Kate Grace and other articles. Use citation templates instead. Fill in the title, author, publisher and date manually or use a script or an automated tool. Thank you. Finnusertop (talk | guestbook | contribs) 22:08, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistent copyright infringements. You have received a very large number of warnings about this, on the talk pages of two accounts, over a period of seven years, but you have ignored the warnings, your only response to them being to remove them from your talk pages, and continue infringing copyright. Several times you have been warned that continuing in the same way would be likely to lead to being blocked, and you should have been blocked years ago. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. In place of "Your reason here", give your reason why you think you should be unblocked. That reason should be such as to persuade the administrator who reviews your unblock request that you understand the reason for the block, and will not continue to infringe copyright.  The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:09, 13 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open! edit

Hello, Longdistance06. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I understand what I have been blocked for copyright, I will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and I will make useful contributions instead.

Decline reason:

Instead of a copy pasted answer, please in your own words explain what copyright is, when and how copyrighted content can be used, and what contributions specifically you will make. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 15:08, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I understand what I have been blocked for copyright i.e. creative work or IP that is protected, I will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and I will make useful contributions instead. Licenses and rights - copyright license to use is an important issue that I respect and value.

Decline reason:

In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:

  • What is copyright? Exclusive right to something created where permission must be given to copied.
  • How is Wikipedia licenced? Creative Commons Attribution license allows Wikipedia to distribute material.
  • Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia? Wikipedia bans copyrighted material that violates the CCA licence.
  • Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
  • How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future? Only using sourced and original material that avoids copyright violations.

Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 11:55, 19 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
