Chromehounds

edit

Why do you keep re-adding the reference to the lock ups to the chromehounds article? Though the lock ups occur there is much debate on the topic. Additionally, games and programs with worse errors and glitches have had those omitted from the article, as wikipedia is not a listing of bugs, errors, and glitches. I sent an email to you regarding this Friday, apparently it did not go through. The reason I keep adding the comment back into the entry is that people should be made aware that there ARE issues with this game. 5 pages of names on a forum (and growing) all with people who have had severe issues from this one game is no a fluke. Neither SEGA nor FROM software wants to acknowledge this problem, other than taking a poll from freeze victims. These players have had no other problems with any other game other than Chromehounds. It has made it into national gaming websites. There is a problem and I am adamant that readers know about it so they can make a educated decision. I happen to work in the gaming field, and had to go through 2 xbox 360s and 4 copies of this game before getting a good working copy. My first 360 had no troubles, never overheated, no issues until playing Chromehounds. As a professional, academic, and hard core gamer, I want people to be made aware and be allowed to make that educated choice.

Wikipedia is a free content website. Anyone can post anything, and as long as I do not slander or violate any rules in my entries, they are allowed to stay. For you to keep removing my entries, which violate nothing and state simple facts that people ARE having freezes in this game (which I validated with three separate links), is a violation of my rights to post on Wikipedia. So I will request that you quit removing my entries, or I will have to report this the the Wikipedia administration. Thank you

I do see where you are coming from and see why it might be a good idea to add it, the only problem is there is no hard evidence from research that it is the game causing the problem. Its usually just normal users, who could possibly be might not be considered credible, if you add it again, I will leave it, but most likely reword parts of it. Also I violated no rules, there a standards set in other areas of wikipedia, consistency throughout articles is important, I was following with that with the deletion of the entries.Wildnox 18:19, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wildnox, I have no problems if WE, together, re-word the entry. I just want people made aware of potiential problems. Do other games have issues? Yes. But this game has had many more occurances than other games, and people have literally LOST their xbox 360s, both older models and new, after playing this game. As good citizen, we would be remiss not to avice people what potiental might/could happen. IF I knew you would be robbed at gunpoint tomorrow, would you not want me to tell you that you MIGHT be at risk. I will repost the section, feel free to re-word :D Logan074 18:24, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I'll reword and add a bit. I'm gonna try to find counter point sources, if not I'll at least try to provide counter point, which is usually limited to it being the xbox's ability to withstand porlonged head from people playing an addictive game in the midst(sp?) of a heat wave. I am adding some as we speak, and I believe you will find it a fair compromise Logan074 18:32, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I will say this about the overheating. I had a 360 (created Dec 22, 2005) and never had a issues with it. I played mass amounts of time, as I write a blog on gaming and the media as well as work in gaming. I kept my system in a open enviroment, with a fan running in the room 24/7. After 20 game hours of CH, it froze up. I went through 3 additional replacement CDs and had to replace my 360 with a newer one (3-16-06 DOB) and still had freezes. I currently have a freeze free game (so far).

So while yes, some do not know how to treat and ventilate their 360 systems, that is not the reason for overheating and the lockups. Many have reported having the intracooler fans attached and still overheating. I KNOW overheating, as I am a Yankee stuck/trapped in the hot deep South lol Logan074 18:41, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I reworded a bit and placed the sources inside the paragraph instead of after. I didn't mention overheating, and I won't unless I find a reliable source. On a side note: you just reminded my of why I enjoy my airconditioning :D.Wildnox 18:51, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Glad we could resolve this. Thank you Logan074 18:57, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome, it's nice to work with people who actually bother to go to talk. :) Wildnox 19:00, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

now my final question for now is, where is there a page listing all the userboxes? I saw it yesterday but can't seem to find it again Logan074 19:02, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes there is, it is a bit hard to find, I'll look for it and see if I can find it . Wildnox 19:11, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

WP:Userboxes At the bottom of the page there is a templete which leads to listings of different userboxes.Wildnox 19:15, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
