The best way to convince people your edit is accurate is to provide references. Here is a tool that makes that easier:
Regarding your comment about citations: Have you noticed that there's a "Cite" toolbar which allows you to automatically generate the required wiki code?
You click one of the templates, e.g. "book", and fill in the details.
