Your question about Norfolkline‎

edit

Lieke, you raised an issue at User talk:MickMacNee about copyright, and you received an incomplete answer there. See my response at permanent link, or possible continued discussion at User talk:MickMacNee#Norfolkline_wikipage, for suggestions as to how to deal with copyright issues.

I noted that you appear to be an single purpose account. I'd urge you to follow the link and become familiar with Wikipedia policy about this. If you have any conflict of interest through a connection with Norfolkline, you should disclose that, and probably not edit the article itself in the presence of such a conflict; however, you would be completely welcome to comment in Talk for the article and make suggestions for other editors to implement, or to directly make non-controversial edits -- like corrections of spelling or to fix minor errors -- only. If in doubt, ask in Talk or ask an experienced editor.

Massive quotations from company-issued documents are probably not appropriate, but this is a matter for the consensus of editors to work out, and I have no opinion about what you have done, I haven't reviewed it more than to see the edit summaries and the response of MickMacNee. Please understand, though, that an editor's opinion is just the opinion of one editor, and if you do not agree with what other editors do, there is dispute resolution process, which starts with informal discussions, perhaps involving neutral editors. You can ask me personally for help if you think you need it, I'll try to respond. Let me welcome you, again, to Wikipedia. Sorry if your first experience was a little blunt, editors get a bit crazy sometimes, combatting waves of vandalism, unsourced text, propaganda, and the rest, so please understand and assume -- it's a guideline -- good faith on the part of other editors, and we should assume it of you, as well. Together, we build this project.

By the way, please sign your talk comments with four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which will substitute your user name and a timestamp. --Abd (talk) 16:46, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
