Would you please add a note to the Thien talk page, explaining your project and linking to your group sandbox? Thanks. Astu260instructor 2016 (talk) 21:19, 8 March 2017 (UTC)Astu260instructor 2016Reply

Hi all - If you go to www.canlit.ca -- the journal of Canadian Literature -- then you'll find multiple articles about Thien and her work that you may find useful. Her views on Canadian nationalism are also cited in CanLitGuides.ca, here http://canlitguides.ca/canlit-guides-editorial-team/nationalism-now-ongoing-national-conversations/

Also, this is an interesting interview with Thien where -- among other topics -- she talks about writing about women of colour: https://granta.com/madeleine-thien-conversation/ Astu260instructor 2016 (talk) 20:50, 8 March 2017 (UTC) Astu260instructor_2016 (Kathryn)Reply

Hi Team Thien. I thought I'd just stop by and see how it's going and to say that I like the improvements on which you have been working. A couple of small suggestions: in the career section, you might want to add an intro sentence - perhaps reflecting or expanding upon what you've added to the beginning about how her work often has a theme around the diasporic histories of Asian communities. Also, it would be great to have a reference for common-law partner fact in the personal life section. Finally, when you add your improvements to the main article, make sure you do it in small chunks and add summary comments, which will make it easier for other editors to see how you are improving the article. Nice job and I'm looking forward to seeing you add to the main article. Cheers, Will (talk) 19:56, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi All - I'm checking in, too. I think that the bulk of your work is still on your Google Docs, so I'll not make editorial comments on what you have here. Building on Will's point re: Hage, you might find it interesting to point to their recent joint public lecture, "Arrival," at SFU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErqN2ePBbCg. On a different note, I also think this Walrus talk, "The Closing Down of Personhood" is quite something ... a multimedia, creative performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbrSA8jDOlE.
