FRWL and EON edit

Do you have a source that claims FRWL is a completely different engine than that of EON? It's the same, from everything I've read. Also, I'm not sure where you got the information that EON "grew out" of Agent Under Fire. Can you source that too please? K1Bond007 20:14, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I have edited the discussions for these pages. I will work at getting MobyGames updated to reflect my information as a lead engineer for these titles so there is a correct external source. Lgascoig 16:02, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. Thanks for getting back to me on this. K1Bond007 22:56, 22 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
I'm curious to know, and perhaps you can't answer (which is fine), but are you also involved in the next James Bond title (Casino Royale)? If so my only question is whether it's using a new engine or a previous one (albeit most likely heavily modified)? If you can't answer, that's cool. I just figure it doesn't hurt to at least ask. Sorry but I can't talk about it until a bit more information on Casino Royale has been released to the public. Lgascoig 17:17, 24 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Wow thats really cool. edit

Thats cool that you work for EA. You do really good work with the Bond games (no offense, but that is with the exception of GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, but I do not know if you worked on that one or not.) Is it possible you could tell me whether Casino Royale is be a first person shooter or a third person? If not then I understand how confidential this stuff is. But the other thing I wanted to ask you is something about the Need for Speed series. But since you are not in the same studio as them, if you can't answer these that's ok too. What tool do they use for level design, and what tool do you use for level design for the Bond games? And when approximately will the next NFS title be announced?

Thank you for your time, and please don't feel obligated to answer my questions if you aren't supposed to. :) Wikipeedio 14:00, 18 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I did not work on Rogue Agent. Unfortunately I do not have answers for either of your questions. You may have seen that Activision now has the Bond license so needless to say we're not developing titles right now. As for level design, we used a different tool on each game. We started with Radiant (the Quake level editor) and modified it extremely heavily for EoN to what we re-named EA Radiant. On FRWL which is based on completely different code we used a heavily modified version of Renderware Studio 2.0 which we re-released internally as Renderware Studio 2.5. Cool. It must be sweet working for EA (its my dream job right now). I'm supposing you get a pass to E3 and everything too. Well I don't mean to be a pest or anything, but is it possible you have a teeny bit of information about Need for Speed Carbon (like a time frame of when an official announcement will come)? Once again, don't answer the question if you can't (I don't want to get you into trouble) ;) Oh and one more thing, I went and downloaded Radiant from qeradiant.com and got the Quake III version. Is that the right one? Is it possible I could get EA's version of Radiant? Forgive me for bothering you so much, but I have been buying EA games for sooo long and I have been desperate to learn what goes on behind the scenes for a long time.
