Kool Aid edit

Please stop adding your analysis of the drink mix you observed in the history channel video. It isn't at all clear that this may have been what was used, and the way you are adding essentially constitutes original research. If you can't provide a written source that confirms this, then it can't be supported, based on all other sources already available. The coroner's inquest isn't a confirming source, since, as you did say, it may have been a genericized usage of the term "cool aid." In addition, it wasn't at all clear to me, or another person I had view the tape, that this is conclusive evidence. Bring this up for discussion on article talk pages prior to any further additions regarding Kool Aid. Wildhartlivie (talk) 01:24, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Just want to chime in that the survivors, including those watching their relatives drink the stuff, have long stated that they used Flavor-Aide, and not Kool Aid. I know the Guyana Inquest document was not really specific. It also contains numerous grammatical errors and the like. The country was in a very difficult time (having nothing to do with the Peoples Temple) and had very few resources and well-educated people in that remote northwest province of Guyana to devote to summarizing and typing the inquest documents. While its true that the article doesn't cite the Flavor Aid, there are numerous reliable sources to support it, including articles from The Press Democrat (reprinted at RickRoss.com), Newsweek, The St. Petersburg Times, ESPN, Psychology Today, and a quote from the Reiterman book in an essay on Rick Ross.com. It's important to remember that one of the precepts of Wikipedia is that the emphasis is on verifiability, not necessarily truth. One or more of these sources do support the inclusion of Flavor Aid. Thanks for your willingness to discuss this, that is something that one doesn't always find from new accounts!! Wildhartlivie (talk) 03:54, 1 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Small edit on your kool-aid discussion edit

In my capacity as the manager of the largest website on Jonestown and Peoples Temple at jonestown.sdsu.edu, I updated the URL from the old address you to the new one ( http://jonestown.sdsu.edu/?page_id=31995). Fielding M. McGehee III Remoore24 (talk) 00:57, 7 February 2015 (UTC)remoore24Reply
