Chung editing

edit
  • I don't know if Chung will qualify as notable, I'm not going to look into that–I'm simply going to help you improve the article, and someone else will weigh in on the notability issue
  • I added the start of an infobox. I picked one designed for a golfer, so I hope that one works. I only added a name and a birthdate. Look at it in edit mode and you will see the type of information that can be added.
  • In the info box, note that the code <!-- foo--> hides the entry "foo". If you have a valid entry for foo, place it there, and remove the beginning and ending characters so it will display. For example, if you know his height, fill int he parameters, then remove the <!-- --> characters so height will work.If that isn't clear, let me know.
  • If you have a picture free of copyright restrictions, it should be added to the infobox. You might be able to figure out how, if not, let me know and I'll help.
  • References should be added to the main text immediately after the first punctuation after the item to be cited. The software will place the footnote and generate the reference at the bottom. I moved the porter cup ref so you could see how it is done. You should move the others, then after that is done I'll help you improve the appearance.
  • I fixed the external link so it displays properly, although it looks like that could be used as a reference.--SPhilbrickT 16:04, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
One specific example of an infobox edit:
In edit mode, look for <!-- Amateur or Professional (when year turned pro unknown)-->
Replace the whole string (after the "=" sign) with "Amateur" (no quotes), click preview to see how it will look, then click save.--SPhilbrickT 16:12, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Chung

edit

I moved the article for you.

It is common to disambiguate bios with a term in parentheses - I choose (golfer) - does that work for you?

It will not appear in a Wikipedia search box until the search index is updated; that happens once every 24 hours, so don't worry if you can't find it within Wikipedia right away.

We have no control over when Google updates its search results, but it often happen within hours, sometimes sooner.

I added hatnotes to the top of both David Chung (golfer) and David Chung

I removed the unreviewed template.

Thanks for you contribution, hope you will continue to work on this and other articles.--SPhilbrickT 02:10, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 02:32, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Chung move

edit

I moved the page to David Chung (golf). That's not completely consistent with our usual convention (so someone may override me) but I agree it is a more logical search term). In many cases, we use the profession not the content, e.g (painter), not (paint), but one example used is (ice hockey), so (golf) should be fine.--SPhilbrickT 13:43, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
