Hawthorne Theater

edit

I checked out the website out of curiosity, and while it doesn't help your notability, I did notice that Matt Pryor and Chris Conley would be touring through later this month. If you can, I'd suggest you go; Judging from your taste in music, I think you'd enjoy them quite a bit. (Of course, giving them a listen before you go could never hurt.) Hey Lucas, I wanted to drop you a note - which is a little out of character for me - about the Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Lucas_Biespiel page. The issue isn't whether you're notable in a purely literal sense. Everyone is notable somewhere (like George Carlin said, "'unknown persons'? Surely everyone is known to someone!"). Wikipiedia is looking for at the very least regional notability, generally in the states meaning statewide (unless you're in Cali, in which case one city might be enough!).
As an example, I could point you to a few people who would call me notable. I was told today that a friend of mine was told by a mutual friend that she was about to meet "the absolute best man in the universe" or similar. Well, that's all nice and all (and flattering), but not enough for Wikipedia. It's not anything against you!
And so there's no confusion, I love Oregon and Portland. In fact, I was at the Portland Airport today (well, Sunday), among three airports total. It's a beautiful city and probably my favourite airport.
Please don't be disheartened. What you COULD do is request that the page be userfied; it is undeleted and moved to your userspace (...User:Lbiespiel/Lucas_Biespiel as an example). Here you can continue to work on it, bringing it up to Wikipedia standards, adding content and references (the hallmark of Wikipiedia!) as they come along. As you gain more and larger recognition, you may later meet the "Notability Guidelines" and the page can then be used in Wikipedia.
For now, though, not so much. Don't take it personally. That's the bottom line.
And I would be willing to work with you on such a page if you so wanted.
Because I like Portland.
Because I support the arts.
Because I have always strived to help others accomplish their dreams.
Let me know, and I hope you feel better about the whole thing with understanding it.
Take Care. Vengeance is mine, saith the Prime 07:44, 4 Aug 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Zach striar

edit

A tag has been placed on Zach striar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you.
