A welcome from Sputnik

edit
Hi, Laurenkendall, Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hello, bonjour, salut, privyet, konichiwa, shalom, hola, salve, sala'am, bonjourno, and hi! I'm Sputnik. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". We're glad to have you in our community! I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful. If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you. Here are a few links to get you started:
And remember:
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
  • P.S. I'm happy to help new users. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

Happy Wiki-ing!

I want to say welcome, too!

Well, welcome there then! You're very enthusiastic, so it's pretty much guaranteed that you'll rock at being a Wikipedian. We like to have a lot of fun, you'll find, and if you stay here a while you'll find out that we're just one big, happy family. So welcome, and remember to be bold! Cheers! :D --M o P E! 06:41, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, I wanted to give you a gift; a free custom signature. You don't have to use it; heck, you don't have to even look at it. Consider it a motion of good will :) Ok, first;

  1. First, copy this code by selecting it and pressing Control + C or the corresponding keys on your keyboard.

The code;

 [[User:Laurenkendall|<font color="pink">Lauren</font>]] [[User talk:Laurenkendall|<font color="purple">Kendall</font>]]

(turns into Lauren Kendall)

  1. Then, go here and find the Nickname text box.
  2. Under the text box is a little checkbox; make sure that there is a check in it (It's the Enable Raw Signatures checkbox)
  3. Now, with the checkbox checked, click on the textbox and paste in your code.

That should let you get your new signature any time just by typing ~~~~. Have fun! :D --M o P E! 06:47, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to swipe anything you need, except my life story (we also deal with lame jokes around here :P). And if you need any help, everyone here lives with open ears. Cheers! --M o P E! 06:50, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, the Bush administration is probably one of the more bumbling ones in the history of the U.S. I mean, the first few years were terrible; I agree that the U.S. has the right to counter-attack the terrorists, but this "Long War" (previously known as the artist known as the Global War on Terror, the Struggle against Insurgency, and many other silly titles). Everything about the war has gone wrong; they forecasted a 1.7 billion dollar budget, which they exceeded by about 250 billion. Their only purpose was to locate "Weapons of Mass Destruction". Abu-Ghraib. And even though you can see that they're sweating in their suits, they still don't back off and say, "Ok, I admit it; my bad." Harper, however, is an issue I'll rant about at another time. Anyway, sorry for intruding, but I need to vent my frustration at politics. --M o P E! 16:34, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, I'm glad that you enjoyed my welcome. I was never officially welcomed to Wikipedia, and so I have taken it upon myself to (among other things) help welcome others. Speaking of what I'm doing right now, I'm leaving for Israel in about 2 hours. I'll be there for a week (it's my cousin's bar mitzvah). I don't know if I can handle being away from the wiki for more than a day. Anyway, have fun editing, and... I'll be back! СПУТНИКССС Р 01:52, 12 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
