Impact entrepreneur article

Hello, thanks for your question. Sorry about the deluge of automated messages.

The problems with your article are that it doesn't establish notability for the term, meaning extensive coverage in reliable sources. Having a lot of members doesn't mean much on the internet. Many joke twitter accounts have hundreds of thousands of followers. So do many LinkedIn groups. That doesn't automatically mean they're notable. For a campaign movement, extensive press coverage needs to be shown for the article to be kept.

In addition, your article is written in a promotional, boosting tone, most of it being one long quote. Here is an article on a socially worthy organization that presents extensive discussion on whether or not it is effective, citing economists, statisticians and other charity experts. While there is no automatic need to have such material on your article, the lack of it makes it sound like Wikipedia is being used for free advertising, something most people on here are very much against and keen to remove quickly. In general, writing a Wikipedia article on yourself or your campaign is risky, since it is likely to annoy people. (Your article has been marked for immediate deletion by multiple people as not even being worth discussing before deleting, showing how much consensus there is regarding this.) I can think of at least one Wikipedia article that's mostly on how its subject made an ass of himself trying to edit Wikipedia to look good.

While anyone can edit Wikipedia, you can't put whatever you want on it. My advice is to consider establishing a website/blog for your campaign, getting press coverage and actually achieving something rather than just sitting around all day editing Wikipedia. (Yeah, I recognise the hypocrisy there. Still, you can learn from my mistakes!) Blythwood (talk) 15:34, 7 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
