No problem. While it is very tempting at first sight to say they practice a more "folk" Islam, the fact is that many of these beliefs aren't just cultural. For example tawassul, by definition generally means Muhammad can hear and intercede for an individual. I think stating these beliefs are cultural is more of a common Western misconception as well as a belief that some restorationist groups such as the Salafi or Deobandi want to state. It isn't simply cultural, however its opponents want to argue it is in order to undermine its legitimacy. --pashtun ismailiyya 03:51, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
