There is currently a discussion at Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is LMComms. The discussion is about the topic Chris Loder. Thank you. Qazwsx777 (talk) 13:41, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "LMComms", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it sounds like a company name. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you.Deb (talk) 13:48, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for discussing me. I can confirm my name is NOT a company name - merely my initials [LM] and what I do. I am a member of the MP's staff and was unaware that I needed to disclose this on every edit - in future I shall of course. I have mostly only made minor corrections which were avoidable had original editors not made literal, grammatical or typographical errors. I had no intention of becoming a wiki editor but was forced to do so in order to quickly remove maliciously-posted content on Chris Loder's page last year LMComms (talk) 14:48, 23 February 2021 (UTC).Reply

You'll appreciate why it's not a good choice of username. Regardless of what it means, I would recommend changing it. Deb (talk) 16:00, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the reply and explanation of the situation. A disclosure of your connection has been added to Talk:Chris Loder. Wikipedia has strong protections against malicious or libellous content being added to articles concerning biographies of living persons (WP:BLP) such as Chris Loder, so rest assured that no inappropriate content will be allowed to be remain as part of the article. One of the key tenets of Wikipedia is Neutral Point of View (WP:NPoV) so through your professional connection with Chris Loder you have a conflict of interest. This is not a judgement on your character, integrity, or edits you have previously made but a description of a situation. Thanks again.Qazwsx777 (talk) 16:07, 23 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
