Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Villa Riviera, and I noticed that your username, "LB Historian", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. My user name was not meant to represent a company, organization or anything else. LB Historian is only because I have done a great deal of historical research on Long Beach. While I am the Villa Riviera's Historic Director and manage their archive--you will note I didn't just that as my user name. I am also the founder of the Long Beach Conservancy I did not use that either. I am individual with a love of history for the city of Long Beach--which is why I selected that user name. I also avoided "Long Beach" or "City of Long Beach" as I had interest in misrepresenting as an official representative. If LB Historian doesn't meet the standard, I am happy to create another which does meet with your standards. LB Historian (talk) 00:31, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Regardless of your username (which I seem to have misinterpreted; I'm sorry), if you're going to edit the page, I recommend that you close your conflict of interest (see here) so that others know and can check for neutrality as needed. Thanks! Rusty talk contribs 00:52, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am new to this--I read the COI alert. The page is for the Villa Riviera--an historic building in Long Beach. My interest is to correct known errors and add information to the history of the building. Through my deep research on the building, I have uncovered errors in newspaper accounts, the building's own website, and so forth. Basic information such as the building was not built and completed in 1929, but 1928. There are three penthouses, not two. There is not a dog gargoyle, but a cougar...nothing that would create any sort of slant, produce any sort of gain, just basic information. I am not clear how to proceed. If you're just here to correct errors, you may go ahead, but please do make sure that all of your edits are appropriately sourced. The newspaper accounts you mentioned would work. As long as the source exists somewhere in the world.
Also, be careful not to add too much. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, after all. Rusty talk contribs 01:30, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Got it, thank you. I have nothing left to add. LB Historian (talk) 01:31, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
