As you may have noticed I have continued to edit the article today to make additional improvements - especially pertaining to the fact that the Mason County District Library comprises two independent branches. I am working on a possible "hook" for the Did You Know section of the Main page of Wikipedia. I am thinking of something along the lines of
| “ | Did You Know ... that the Mason County District Library has no building but contains over 100,000 volumes? | ” |
This would be true since it is an "administration" of two independent libraries and not actually a library itself. However, I need a reference (i.e. newspaper article or formal documentation obtainable by the public) that would say this from a third party. I can then make this a reference in the article that anyone could look up and see that it is actually true. The 100,000 volumes can be verified by the web pages I already have in the article (Ludington of 65,000 + Scottville of 35,000), however need a reference or newspaper article that says the "Mason County District Library" is only an administration (formed in 1994) and not actually a building. A "Did You Know" fact has to have a reference before it is accepted. If it is accepted by the Wikipedia Administrators then this fact appears on the Main Page for about a day and the article gets a lot of lookers because of the exposure. I will be in tomorrow to look up a possible article that I imagine does exist for sometime in March of 1906 pertaining to when the Ludington Public Library opened. At the time I believe it was called the Ludington Carnegie Library. If the article says this, then I could use another alternate hook something like
| “ | Did You Know ...that the Ludington Public Library was first called the Ludington Carnegie Library since the city's library construction was financed by Andrew Carnegie? | ” |
This would be true since the finance constructuion cost of $15,000 came from him. I'll look it up on the microfilm to see. --Doug Coldwell talk 19:09, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
