Iceworm

edit

Iceworm has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt the subject might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability for the relevant concerns. An example of notability guidelines can be found at Wikipedia:Notability (websites). If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. Hey, thanks for the message. What am I doing that's mean? I'm certainly not trying to be mean. I saw in the deletion list that Iceworm had been proposed for deletion, so I looked up the creator (you) and left you a message to help you know why and what to do about it.
Since I don't have admin powers, I can't read the page history to see who originally proposed it for deletion, so you can't ask them about their reasoning. If you click the redlink, then deletion log, you can see that User:Angr is the admin who deleted it after five days of no one objecting to the proposed deletion. Then a couple of weeks later User:Lectonar deleted it as being a recreated prod--which is actually against policy, as you can read at WP:PROD#Conflicts. If you are interested in having the article restored, you might talk to either of these admins.
Did you read the links I left you originally? Those explain why some things that seem harmless are still deleted. But if you think that the subject does meet Wikipedia's guidelines, then you can get the article restored. But that won't guarantee it won't get deleted again--but it will have to go thru a debate at WP:AFD before it's deleted again.
Is there something in particular I said that made me sound mean? I was trying to be helpful, and I'd hate to think I'm bothering people. NickelShoe (Talk) 15:12, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
