Welcome!

Hello Klassykittychick, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  RJFJR 20:01, 27 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Looks like you've been here a while so I gave you our standard welcome message. When I notice someone with an account but a blank talk page I drop by and welcome them. It's an informal system. I don't track account creation so I'll only notice a person when they edit a page in my watchlist and are still the latest editor when I check my watchlist. It appears the welcome was over due. I hope you enjoy contributing to wikipedia. RJFJR 16:34, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Your edits to Sally (Nightmare Before Christmas)

edit

Hello! Why did you delete the External links and references for Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas? Because the article was a stub, it seemed warranted to expand it with a link/reference heading even if only one link has been added thus far? best, --164.107.92.120 20:09, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Music-Aqualung-artist_1x1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 12:52, 14 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Me_(Headshot).JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Lyrics to Brains song

edit

Hi, I removed the lyrics to the brians song again, because including it on Wikipedia would be a copyright violation (and even were it not, Wikipedia is not the place for song lyrics). If you want to discuss this further, drop me a note on my talk page, but please don't add it again because it puts us into a legal place we don't want to be. --Improv 14:30, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Notgoing.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Notgoing.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:09, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Your VandalProof Application

edit

Dear Klassykittychick,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen TC (Stollery) 01:59, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use images in your userboxes

edit

Hi, I was just looking through your userbox archive, and I noticed that all of them use a fair use image. Unfortunately, the use of fair use images on user pages is prohibited by Wikipedia policy (specifically #9 here). I would politely request that you find something else to go in that space, either a non-fair use image or some sort of text. Thank you. —Mira 03:00, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your VandalProof Application

edit

Dear Klassykittychick,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that that you don't have enough edits in the main article namespace. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Renaming it myself?

edit

Dear Jc37,

I saw your proposal about my userbox catergory, Wikipedian Elfmaniacs, and I was wondering: As creator of the userbox/catergory, would I be able to make the name change/move myself, or does the poll need to continue on?-Releeshan 00:51, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Since you commented (as creator of the category), the discussion can be closed with a result of "speedy rename". However, that's up to the closer. Hope this helped to clarify : ) - jc37 00:56, 9 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Pan's Labyrinth needs an interpretation section —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Way4thesub (talkcontribs) 11:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

The only reason I reverted was because "necessary" was misspelled and therefore questioned the validity of the edit. I apologize; it was not vandalism as my Edit Summary claimed. GofG ||| Contribs

Nice work on the reverts, not the first time you have been the one to deal with vandalism there. Nice to know there is at least one other decent editor with their eye on the article. Keep up the good work! J Milburn 19:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dannyelfman2.JPG)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Dannyelfman2.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hey, could you help me out

edit

Could you help me out and verify I'm not going crazy. I tried to input my userbox, {{User:Lighthead/Photek}} onto the Wikipedia artists list; but the page went all wonky on me. Could you do it for me anyway you feel would be the way and tell me what happens. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. And trust me this isn't some reverse psychology test; I'm just really frustrated because I've been trying to do this for like 3 days, and I'm going slightly nuts. Well, anyway thanks. þ 07:21, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Barkis-bittern.PNG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Barkis-bittern.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:14, 29 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Meet woodstock big.gif

edit

Thank you for uploading Image:Meet woodstock big.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:B000HEZF7C.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V37078804 .jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:B000HEZF7C.01. SS500 SCLZZZZZZZ V37078804 .jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:35, 21 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
