Your sig edit

Please change your sig so it does not blink. Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) 18:31, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Uh, alright I will, but can I please ask why first? Or if the blinking is against any rules? ~九尾の氷狐~ (Sumimasen! Dochira samaka?) 19:09, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
The HTML blink tag is specifically disabled within wikitext, and its use is classically reviled pretty much anywhere on the web (on usability and accessibility grounds). Wikipedia:Signatures#Appearance and color says don't do it. --
Sorry, I was unaware, I made that signature when I was relativeley unfamiliar with wiki-policies, and simply never had gone back to fix it, any page that get's updated should display my new signature. Thank you for pointing this out and being civil and assuming good faith :) ~九尾の氷狐~ (Sumimasen! Dochira samaka?) 02:41, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Crap, now it's putting the date in a box.... what?
Thanks for turning the blink off. You should also not transclude anything in your custom sig (like your sig2 file), per WP:SIG#NoTemplates. This might help others help you figure out your date problem as well. -- Rick Block (talk) 07:53, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Well gee, that really sucks, because although I'm sure I could, I doubt you'd want to have to filter through my signature every time you read a page I commented on, as it stands: -HURR ~<big><font color="red">九</font><font color="orange">尾</font><font color="yellow">の</font><font color="green">野</font><font color="blue">狐</font><font color="purple">♥</font></big> <small><small><small><small><span style="background-color:indigo"><span style="color:black"><span style="background-color:indigo"><span style="color:black">THE</span></span><span style="background-color:indigo"><span style="color:black"> INDIGO</span></span><span style="background-color:indigo"><span style="color:black"> IS A LIE</span></span> </span></span></small></small></small></small>... well... I'm off to bed here shortly, and for now I will simply change the template to just have a profile link, this should fix the box problem. Tomorrow I guess I will think up a new signature that is far simpler... ~九尾の氷狐~ (Sumimasen! Dochira samaka?) 08:22, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the note about the Why_Encyclopedia_Dramatica_has_returned template edit

RE: User:Inclusionist/Why_Encyclopedia_Dramatica_has_returned

I just realized you messaged me.[1] Thanks for letting me know about the changes to the template. As I have decided not to rely on my watch list anymore (It is just too much work and emotional wikidrama protecting the hundreds of pages I have edited and created), the note was appreciated. Edit away, since it maybe years, if ever when I return to that talk page. If you want to move the page to a generic "Wikipedia" "phoenix template" so other articles can use this template, move away. travb (talk) 17:57, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Actually, there was a huge reason I made the template on the right side, and small, I find there are too many templates on an average talk page already.
But the change is a matter of preference.
Best wishes. travb (talk) 18:01, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
True and truer still. Though I have a good reason for making it longer. It was originally going to stay small and aligned to the right. I kept it this way so it would look smooth in a FAQ section. Unfortunately, the temmplate would not render correctly in a FAQ section, the template said 'Why was Encyclopedia Dramatica/FAQ deleted?' which did not make any sense. So I tried putting it on the talk page alone, but it looked rather ugly and not in-line with the other templates.
Woops... Signed ~九尾の氷狐~ (Sumimasen! Dochira samaka?) 22:18, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
All further talk on this subject should talk place on the template talk page ~九尾の氷狐~ (Sumimasen! Dochira samaka?) 22:26, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Old account, user and user talk page edit

When changing usernames it is sometimes prudent to re-register under your old username to prevent someone else from doing so. If you do this, then leaving the redirects at the old user: and user talk: pages keeps the association between the accounts clear. Just a suggestion. -- Rick Block (talk) 14:27, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Is that not against wiki-policy? ~九尾の氷狐~ (Sumimasen! Dochira samaka?) 14:37, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
No, see "Effects of a username change" at Wikipedia:Changing username. Regarding User:KitsuneDragonRA/sig2 - if you edit each page that links to it and subst the file, then it can be cleanly deleted. Just change each occurrence from to and save the change (see Help:Substitution). -- Rick Block (talk) 14:43, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Actually, you may be thinking of Wikipedia:Sock puppetry. Although having multiple accounts is not in and of itself against policy, actively using multiple accounts in certain ways definitely is. Registering the old account and basically never using it again (just to keep it from being registered by someone else) is fine. -- Rick Block (talk) 14:55, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm actually quite versed in wiki-markup and syntax, I know how to SUBST :P... At any rate, that would take a really long time, and I dun wanna. And yes I was thinking of Sock puppetry. Regardles, I am unbelievably tired, I will register the name and I guess start SUBSTing them all tomorrow. I had originally tried to put the SUBST in the actual page itself, but that didn't work, I honestly didn't think it would work that way. >.<
Is there a faster way to SUBST them all without havving to actually go to each page and type it in manually? ~九尾の氷狐~ (Sumimasen! Dochira samaka?) 15:33, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Disregard that, apparently I only have actually commented on a total of 12 pages after changing my signature to that template >.>
One more thing, this new sig I have, that is not a template, is it too disruptive, i.e. too large, in the edit window? ~九尾の氷狐~ (Sumimasen! Dochira samaka?) 16:18, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Your new sig is great. A limit of 255 characters (which I think doesn't count the timestamp) is enforced, and you're currently not particularly close. There is a way to include a subst in a sig (exercise left for the reader), but even doing that is not recommended (and seems kind of pointless). -- Rick Block (talk) 19:40, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: Your sig edit

Thanks, but it doesn't work. It says "Invalid raw signature. Check HTML tags." —TheLeftorium 18:34, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Didn't work, I think it's because the </font> tags were missing. I've managed to cut it down a bit myself now. :) —TheLeftorium 18:46, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wikicookie! edit

I hereby present you with a wikicookie for being an obviously nice person. I've encountered many excellent editors on Wikipedia, but I find it's sometimes a tad hard to see their human sides. Anyway, your edit summaries and posts on the multiplicity of buffalos page have made the world seem a slightly better place. Thank you. Vsst (talk) 08:09, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with File:Denno.ogg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Denno.ogg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like PD-self (to release all rights), CC-by-sa-3.0 (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 09:02, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Denno.ogg question edit

Hey, you uploaded denno.ogg (the scene from Pokemon that caused seizures). It is safe to watch when it's small, isn't it? Silver Yoshi (talk) 02:29, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well if you've ever had seizures, probably not. I think the kids who had the seizures were sitting too close to their TVs. How ever! I did upload it at the most faithful FPS possible, and so you might get a headache or your eyes might hurt a bit. Really if you have any sort of doubt at all you probably shouldn't watch the video. I, and Wikipedia itself, do not claim that it is safe. ~九尾の氷狐~ (「Sumimasen!」 「Dochira samaka?」) 16:43, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
