Edit summaries

edit

Please add an edit summary with your edits, to explain why you are making changes. Your edits have been reverted because it was not clear to other editors that they were an improvement. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief. For others, such as the wholesale blanking of entire sections, it will need to be more detailed than "lies". You don't need to provide evidence that the source has deliberately lied about something, but you at least need to explain why what the source said is not correct. signed, Willondon (talk) 16:40, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Who is telling you this information because you have a lot of it wrong? Kingk272 (talk) 19:42, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
You can find out by following the sources. Some views don't show the links to sources; there might be a setting on your viewing setup to display them. The bottom of the article has a "References" section, where all the sources are collected together, with individual links to where they have been invoked in the article. Instead of just summarizing your edit with "lies", you're expected to give sources for the information you're adding, or if you're removing sourced content, probably best to open a dialogue on the talk page to fully explain why the existing sourced content is wrong, and why your changes are supported by other reliable sources. signed, Willondon (talk) 20:01, 6 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Gummycow. I noticed that you recently removed content from Monkey meat without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.
