Got 'til It's Gone

edit

The reason I continue to revert that edit is because they weren't CREDITED with the production. It went to Jackson, Harris and Lewis. I am not saying that they didn't produce it, but facts are facts, and production credits didn't go to them. So please stop reverting it. Ga Be 19 06:25, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm not arguing that Dilla isn't the producer, but he wasn't officially CREDITED, meaning it his doesn't go in the info-box as producer. It's already stated in the article that many people have contested that he produced the track. LEAVE IT AS IT IS. Ga Be 19 06:53, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
CAN YOU NOT SEE THE SECOND REFERENCE?? IT ALREADY STATES WHAT YOU SAY. STOP. Ga Be 19 07:03, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Please, look at the paragraph and see what it says:

"Production of "Got 'til It's Gone" was officially credited to Janet Jackson, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. However, the hip hop collective The Ummah (composed of Q-Tip, J Dilla, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad) contest that they are the actual producers of the track. In an interview, J Dilla himself stated that he, Q-Tip, and Muhammad produced the original after Jackson met Q-Tip on the set of the 1993 film Poetic Justice.1 Pitchfork also states how the song "bears all the hallmarks of The Ummah style: neo-soul electric pianos, subdued kicks paired with prominent snares, and bass that burbles so thickly that it flows instead of pops"2. Dilla also made a remix of the song titled "Got Til' Its Gone (Jay Dee's Revenge Remix)"."

Look at the second source, your posting the exact same source twice, which is not needed. Your the stubborn one who obviously doesn't know how Wikipedia works. Ga Be 19 07:18, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Also, it doesn't state that "the remix was made to show the world that Dilla and The Ummah were the original producers of the song." Quit making up lies.Ga Be 19 07:25, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
It's like you can't read. It's already stated in the article that Pitchfork along with Q-Tip and Muhammad say that J DIlla was the producer, but your saying "that the remix was made to show the world that Dilla and The Ummah were the original producers of the song." Nowhere in the article does it say that that's why the remix was made. I'm not reverting your edit because "I think hip hop is not real music" and I'm not "denying a dead man his proper respect". Your posting not only a redundant source, but you you're also posting lies.Ga Be 19 07:56, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Congrats!! The wording you posted now is ALOT better than saying "the remix was made to show the world that Dilla and The Ummah were the original producers of the song".Ga Be 19 08:37, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Two hours? wow lol, time flies by! And hey, by the looks of it, your a big J Dilla fan, I just wanted to know what records he has made/produced that you would recommend, because I really like Got 'til It's Gone, and I would like to see about his music.Ga Be 19 08:54, 24 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
